Ambera Wellmann (born 1982 in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia) received her undergraduate degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax and studied at Cooper Union in New York. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Guelph in Ontario in 2016. While in Ontario, she received the Joseph Plaskett Award in Painting as well as the prestigious RBC Canadian Painting Competition in 2017. Wellmann’s work has been exhibited at numerous museums and foundations internationally and is featured in prominent permanent museum collections worldwide. She lives and works in New York.
