Dr. Kymberly Pinder
Yale School of Art

Dr. Kymberly Pinder is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Dean of the Yale School of Art and Professor of Art and History of Art. As an internationally recognized scholar, Dr. Pinder teaches, writes and lectures on representations of religion, history and race in American Art and her books include Painting the Gospel: Black Public Art and Religion in Chicago and Race-ing Art History: Critical Readings in Race and Art History.

As a mural scholar, Dr. Pinder has led collaborative initiatives with artists and municipal officials that have led to the creation of murals in Chicago, Albuquerque and New Haven, most recently at Yale's Peabody Museum. Previously, she was Acting President, Provost, and Senior Vice President of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the Dean of Fine Arts and the museum director at University of New Mexico, and a professor and chair at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
