Lauren Cornell is the Artistic Director of the Hessel Museum of Art at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College (CCS Bard), where she has curated numerous exhibitions, including surveys of Leidy Churchman, Stan Douglas, Sky Hopinka, Martine Syms, Dara Birnbaum, Nil Yalter, and Erika Verzutti. From 2017 to 2025, she served as Chief Curator and Director of the Graduate Program at CCS Bard, overseeing the curriculum and guiding the trajectories of more than one hundred students. Previously, from 2005 to 2017, she was a curator at the New Museum and served as Executive Director of its affiliate Rhizome (2005–2012), an organization dedicated to born-digital art.
