Naima J. Keith
SVP of Education, LACMA
Naima J. Keith is a curator, museum educator, and cultural leader who serves as Senior Vice President of Education, Public Programs, and Regional Partnerships at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), where she shapes the vision and direction of innovative educational and community-focused programming that reaches hundreds of thousands of people each year.
Before joining LACMA, Keith was Deputy Director and Chief Curator at the California African American Museum (CAAM), where she guided curatorial and education departments and organized major exhibitions highlighting contemporary artists. Earlier in her career, she was an Associate Curator at The Studio Museum in Harlem, curating influential exhibitions and engaging with emerging and established artists.
Keith’s work extends beyond museums to major art events and collaborations; she was co-artistic director of Prospect.5 in New Orleans and has co-curated significant surveys, including a comprehensive exhibition of Simone Leigh’s work. She has lectured widely, published essays on art and culture, and been recognized with awards such as the David C. Driskell Prize for contributions to African American art history.
